Colts searching for their ticket to the quarter-finals (Preview)

By Luis Ramirez Ozejo

Following a brief but intense season, the moment has finally arrived for the Centennial Women's Soccer team to make their debut at the 2021 OCAA playoffs.

The Colts, who ended up in second place in the East Division, will face George Brown at Progress Campus on Saturday afternoon (the game's scheduled to start at 5 PM), looking for their qualification to the tournament's quarter-finals.

The women are back in action after having a well-deserved break, with their last match taking place on Oct. 5.

There is an incredible bond around the squad, as they continue to perform at an elite level, despite the tight schedule which had them playing every three days. Now, with proper time to rest and recover those muscles, there's a lot of expectation of what the team can show against the Huskies.

The women's team are currently on an unbeaten streak of two games. A result of their scoreless tie against St. Lawrence and their outstanding victory against Durham.

The Colts also have two very important weapons for this next encounter in striker Nailah Rowe and midfielder Brieanna Grant. Both players currently lead the squad in goals and assists, respectively, with them also appearing as part of the league's top five in those categories.
On the other hand, George Brown will make their appearance at Colts Pitch after placing third on the Central division.

Our rival for tomorrow finished the group stage with two wins and four losses overall, being unable to get a single point from their last encounters against Seneca. To make matters even worse for them, in these matches they conceded a total of 15 goals, with the final results being 5-0 and 10-0.

Two completely different realities for sure, but the Colts will be doing wrong if they enter the pitch thinking the victory is set even before the initial whistle.

These are games where the players need to give their 110 per cent at all times to achieve the team's objective, and it's fair to say that our girls know that. Go Colts!
