SCARBOROUGH, ONT.- Led by a pair of goals each from defender Milinda Roblero and striker Cory Lapointe, the Durham Lords came to AWC Turf Field and beat the Centennial Colts, 6-1.

Midfielders Natasha Hassenstein and MacKenzie Barry had a goal apiece for Durham. Centennial midfielder Lais Rios scored the lone goal for the home team.

Durham's impeccable possession and ball movement were evident throughout the game as the Lords took 27 shots with a whopping 21 of them on goal while Centennial only mustered five shots on goal, all in the second half.

The Lords opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Roblero broke free and chipped a shot past a charging Brandi Riggs into the bottom right corner.

Durham then added another in the 36th minute off of an unfortunate sequence as the ball went off Colts defender Rachel Morcos' back and landed right on Lapointe's foot, who used her left foot to strike it past Riggs just inside the penalty box. Lapointe then added another in the 40th with her left foot again on a mini breakaway.

Centennial did not get their first shot on goal and overall until the 50th minute but they made it count as Rios took a shot from 35 feet out over the top of a stunned Jayden Bell, seemingly gaining a little bit of momentum in the process.

Durham quickly erased that momentum after Hassenstein broke free and tapped in the ball to the wide open net off of a wonderful cross in the 71st minute as backup goalie Sabrina Rizzo, who replaced Riggs in the second half, overcommitted to the pass.

Arguably the goal of the night came in the 78th minute as Barry took a right footed strike from 40 feet out that hit off the post and just past the goal line to make it 5-1.

Roblero capped off the scoring with her second of the night as she shot a low strike through Rizzo's legs.

Injury Report: The Colts' Faith Anderson (knee) left the game in the 45th minute and did not return.

Centennial falls to 1-6-2 while Durham improves to 4-3-2.
