This past Thursday, the OCAA 1-7 MVB battled against the 7-1 Durham Lords. The team travelled to Oshawa for the match but faced a hard fought defeat with a final score of 3-1 for the Lords.
Durham took the first set 25-13 against a strong defense by the Colts. Seneca lead Centennial through to the second set with a 14-25. The Colts decided to turn it up the next half of the game bouncing back with 25-20 for the third set. The team was looking optimistic and kept fighting for a win through to the end.
In the final set, they tried to keep the momentum going but unfortunately it wasn't enough to take the Lords as they took that set at 25-18. Jason Fillion was a top player with 8 kills, and 10 attacks. Next came Sev Libramonte with 5 kills, 26 attacks and 1 dig and Marvin Reed with 4 kills, 13 attacks and 4 digs. Ronald Ho also stood out this match with 9 digs and Matthew Wallace with 24 assists.
The next game is against Georgian College on Sunday, December 4th at Centennial. After the holidays, the team will move on to face Loyalist in the New Year on Wednesday, January 11th.
