Colts Extend Win Streak to Four With Dominant Sunday Rout of Algonquin

The Centennial Colts continued their mid-season surge on Sunday afternoon, overpowering the Algonquin Wolves 108–69 in the second game of a back-to-back weekend. The win marked the Colts' fourth straight victory, coming just a day after a commanding 92–66 win over the La Cité Coyotes on Saturday night.

The Game

Centennial set the tone early against Algonquin, opening with an 8–0 run. Early foul trouble briefly slowed their momentum, allowing the Wolves to tie the game, but the Colts quickly regained control with strong defensive pressure and efficient ball movement. From there, Centennial never looked back.

Samuel Wong led the way with 23 points, knocking down six of ten three-point attempts, including a deep shot that helped blow the game open. O'Neil Turton contributed 16 points, Mateo Spencer-Gomes added 18, and Josh Noton sparked the bench with 14.

Head Coach Chester Taylor praised the team's effort and approach:

"We still have some discipline issues to work out — nothing major, defensive rotations and turnovers. But we have aspirations of being a championship team, and I'm pleased to see the work these young men have put in. Everyone plays for each other. That's why we don't have a single go-to scorer. It's a blessing to be dangerous at all five spots — anyone can beat you. We have range from our bigs, our guards attack relentlessly, and these guys want to win. They give a full 40 minutes every game, and that's why you're seeing us win in such dominant fashion."

The weekend sweep demonstrated Centennial's depth, spacing, and versatility. This is a team capable of dominating on both ends of the floor while sharing the scoring load across multiple players.

By the Numbers

Centennial's dominance was evident across the stat sheet. The team shot an efficient 56.6% from the field, connecting on nearly 40% of their three-pointers and converting two-thirds of their free throws. On the defensive end, the Wolves struggled mightily, hitting just 39.4% of their shots, including only 26.3% from beyong the arc, while making 60% of their free throws.

Individually, Samuel Wong led all scorers with 23 points, Mateo Spencer-Gomes added 18, O'Neil Turton contributed 16, and Josh Noton provided 14 off the bench, highlighting the Colts' balanced offensive attack and depth.
