Colts Improve to 2-1 on the Season

SCARBOROUGH, ONTARIO - The Centennial Colts Men's Basketball team got back on track with a terrific bounce-back win against their cross-city rivals, the George Brown Huskies, 74–66, on Halloween Friday night at the Athletic & Wellness Centre. The Colts were coming off a frustrating loss last week to the Georgian Grizzlies, 97–94 — a game they controlled for nearly 40 minutes, only to see it slip away in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.

The Colts were propelled to victory by the outstanding play of Ryan Frank-Brooks. The Seneca transfer and Scarborough native poured in 22 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and collected 3 steals while shooting an efficient 60% from the field. Frank-Brooks also drew two huge charge calls in the second half that sapped the Huskies' momentum and fired up the home crowd.

Centennial also received solid contributions from Mateo Spencer-Gomes, who chipped in timely baskets and energy on both ends of the floor. Despite struggling from the free-throw line — shooting below 30% — the Colts shot 40% from the field as a team and played strong defensively down the stretch to seal the win.

The team is back in action on Friday, November 7 at 5:30 PM as they head to King City to take on the 0–2 Seneca Sting.
